Mansory Takes On Two Wheels With A Custom Carbon Fiber Zapico Bike.

Mansory is best known for their luxurious customization of high-end vehicles, notably adding lots of carbon fiber, elegant interior appointments and performance upgrades to automotive luxury brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, Rolls Royce and Range Rover.

But now they've ventured into the world of 2 wheels with their new Zapico Custom Bike. The sexy motorcycle is made with a lot of carbon fiber; the front mask, bug spoiler, seat module, primary shield and silencer as well as the applications on the fuel tank, the frame, fork, wheel rims and airbox. Aluminum accents the fuel tank, spoiler and rear fender and the bike has a 0-100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds.

The MANSORY Zapico custom bike [press release]:

It's not only for four-wheeled luxury vehicles that the top-quality range from high-end manufacturer MANSORY has received awards; its genuine custom bike is famous too. This is shown most impressively by the MANSORY bike Zapico, developed in collaboration with bike customiser Thomas M. George.

The hand of company boss Kourosh Mansory is plain to see: the finest carbon, most lavishly processed, decorates the impressive-looking cruiser while the front mask, bug spoiler, seat module, primary shield and silencer as well as the applications on the fuel tank, the frame, fork, wheel rims and airbox all originate from the MANSORY factory in the town of Brand in the Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria. The bike's leatherwork is further testament to the exquisite craftsmanship applied – unmistakeably MANSORY.

The custom bike is driven by a powerful 124 cubic inch (around 2,080 cm³) V2 engine made by the well-known American engine manufacturer S&S. This large two-cylinder engine delivers a full 160 hp to the extra-large rear tyres and can accelerate the 340 kg bike from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.

The Chevy 789 Combines The 3 Most Popular Chevrolets Of All Time Into One Vehicle.

n2a [No Two Alike] Motors Inc. in Corona, California is producing a series of cars to appeal to the true Chevrolet enthusiast who wants to relive the 1950's styling or visit this era for the first time.

Most car enthusiasts recognize the look of a 1957 Chevrolet. In fact, many believe this car represents the essence of the styling of the 1950s when almost all cars could easily be identified by make, model and year. Those were the times when General Motors changed the complete body design of their cars each year in 1957, 1958, and 1959; a feat manufacturers say cannot be done economically today.

The model above is, in fact, a design that features the front end styling of a 1957 Chevrolet Belair, the middle section reflecting a 1958 Chevrolet Impala and the distinctive rear extremity of a 1959 Chevrolet. Thus the model designation, "7-8-9" covers the three years of the most popular Chevrolets of all time. The Chevy 789 is available in a Coupe or Convertible for $135,500 or $139,500 respectively.

Here's a look at the three original vehicles whose combined designs inspired the custom built Chevy 789.

The original ’58 Chevrolet Impala hardtop:

and convertible:

The original ’57 Chevy Belair hooded headlights and chrome grille:

The original ’59 Chevrolet tail fins:

Melding the design elements from the different Chevy models shown above, the 789 looks instantly iconic. It blends the best of three classics mounted atop a Le Mans-winning Corvette C6 chassis.

Aptly named for the three years represented in the overall design, the 789 has the "hooded eyes" and chrome grille of a ’57, a mid-section that’s reminiscent of a ’58 Impala and the "bird in flight" rear tailfins of a ’59. These three vehicles are all instantly recognizable classics celebrated by people around the world.

Based on the very reliable and extremely performance oriented new Corvette, known as the C6 for Corvette's sixth generation, the body panels are replaced by newly designed carbon fiber body pieces specially sculptured for the 7-8-9. What results is a two seat sports car with production restricted to 'no two alike', thus the name of the company, n2a Motors. With more than 10,000 exterior and interior color combinations and hundreds of wheel designs, you can have the specific car of your dreams.

The Chevy 789 in baby blue and white with black interior:

If the performance of the C6 Corvette at 440 horsepower doesn't satisfy your needs, a vast array of upgrades from performance intake and exhaust manifolds to over-the-top 1,000 horsepower enhancements are available. Turbocharging or supercharging options can be added to your individually commissioned dream machine. Brake packages including ceramic, carbon fiber or other high performance systems along with custom made exhaust packages all add to the overall wish list.

The Chevy 789 in Aqua and Black with tri-toned interior:

Inside, each 789 the interior is tri-toned as standard equipment, just like the 1958 Impala that inspired it. You can choose from virtually any available commercial fabric or leather combination at no extra cost.

Obviously, sound system upgrades are expected as well as some interior features designed to surprise and delight, such as lighted door panels that glow in different colors in sync with the music. Special embroidery on the seats is also a personal touch that reflects your wants. Body colors and combinations will not be duplicated adding to further individualism.

The Chevy 789 in orange and black with black interior:

The 789 offers the best of both worlds: retro looks and styling, and it will fire up every time you turn the key. The body is constructed of lightweight composite panels. n2a Motors has developed a process of using 80% carbon fiber with 20% fiberglass. This process yields a light weight rigid part as if it was 100% carbon fiber with the minimal properties of fiberglass that allows for show quality paint and finish.

The customer can either provide n2a Motors with a donor C6 series (2005-2009) Corvette, which currently retails for around $60,000 (though used models can be had for less), or they can locate one for you.

After stripping the ‘Vette of its stock body, n2a hand-grafts the retro body panels over the stock frame, suspension, and massive 440-horsepower, 6.0-liter aluminum-block V8 engine. The base cost of conversion is $80,000, which includes choice of interior and exterior color schemes, specific 789 exhaust, and PST high-performance sway bars. A full range of upgrades are available, including up to 800 hp powertrains, custom suspension, audio/video/navigation systems, interior customization, and more. They will build each 789 to meet the customer's specifications. However, please note that no previously built combination of paint scheme and interior treatment will be duplicated.

The 100m Phoenicia Superyacht Design By Igor Lobanov

Designer Igor Lobanov has revealed his latest innovative design concept to Super Yacht Times. He stated that Phoenicia it is an explorative study, focusing purely on the design elements themselves. This concept amalgamates various historical influences with a new modern design.

above: original sketch for the Phoenicia

The model explores a 100+ meter superyacht with generous open deck space, particularly aft of the yacht including a helipad; a feature which is usually seen on large motor yachts rather than a sailing yacht.

Another key element of this model is an all surrounding open deck arranged as a gallery with a pattern design as a feature. One of the proposed patterns has a special Arabian influence.

Additionally Phoenicia has a very unconventional bow, which has a hint of ancient Greek influence. This design gives the feeling of 1000 years of history of an “ancient royal ship” with the appropriate name concept of "Phoenicia". Phoenicians are believed to be the people who influenced the Greek alphabet. From the Greeks it was then passed to Romans as Latin and to Slavs (and even Mongols) as Cyrillic. As a result a wide range of nations from Australia to Russia are now using letters that derive from those once created in the small area of Phoenicia.

Also known for trading across the whole of the Mediterranean, the Phoenicians influenced many nations and cultures that lived around sea. The Phoenicians are a link between East and West, between modern Muslim and Christian cultures. Hence, this name is symbolic and appropriate to the design of Phoenicia. This concept is an expression of how we should continue to explore different shores, different cultures and the various way of life.

The Auto Lovers Superyacht Gets Updated. The Strand Craft 166 By Gray Design

You may recall having seen images and renderings of Gray Design's Strand Craft 122, a sleek modern luxury yacht designed with an on-board garage, complete with supercar, to appeal to the automobile lover, on many design blogs and sites a few months back.

Gray Design's first take on the Auto lover's superyacht, the Strand Craft 122:

Now, Eduard Gray of Gray Design has come out with the Strand Craft 166, a new version of the superyacht, designed around the automotive theme.

The SC166

The Strand Craft 166 is an uncompromising superyacht that is as outrageous as it is daring. Designed entirely around an automotive theme, this yacht is ideal for owners who are addicted to that new leather smell. Her low stance, enormous length and curled haunches give this vessel a dynamic aesthetic that is guaranteed to turn heads in the most well appointed marinas.

Retractable flybridge

Contributing to the sleek profile of the yacht is the retractable flybridge and radar mast that retreat into the skin of the yacht when not in use. Both can be deployed independently of each other and are available only when they are required, ensuring the yacht keeps the cleanest possible lines for making that first impression. Strengthening this philosophy are the twin concealed entrances to the yacht, hiding the stairway to the upper aft deck as well as providing access to the garage, bar and lounge areas.

Hidden jacuzzi deck

Concealed beneath the carbon fibre inlaid fore deck is a sun deck equipped with a large jacuzzi, sporting a built-in bar to ensure that every party is well catered for. Access is through a vertically sliding glass door in the windscreen of the pilot house where there is ample seating for 8 guests.

The pilot house itself opens up to the lounge to provide a smooth transition and connection between the driver and the main guest area and at the same time letting in light from the main windscreen to the spaces below.

Supercar tender
Following Strand Craft's automotive tradition, the SC166 comes equipped with it's own custom supercar tender. Created in the same design language as it's carrier, the tender ensures you can roll out at your favorite port in ultimate style. With a V8 engine producing 620 horsepower and a top speed of 305 kph, the tender is an accessory that will certainly put a smile on your face.

Alternatively, you can order your own choice of conveyance to accessorize your superyacht. Be it Koenigsegg, Maybach, Lamborghini, Ferrari, or a waterborne tender, the choice is yours.

Interior and exterior automotive styling
The automotive theme is rich in the SC166, from the cockpit like glasshouse on the upper deck to the red leather covered upholstery that adorns large surfaces of the interior. Chrome highlights sparkle in every part of the cabin and the walls are treated to a highly polished gunmetal automotive lacer. Brushed aluminum trims the windows and bar area and the hallways are bathed in soft LED spotlighting.

Completing the specification list, there are five double en-suite staterooms, each equipped with 52 inch Bang & Olufsen TVs, top of the line sound systems, LED mood lighting and a iPad control and information center from Poets Road to allow you to activate any function from wherever you are on the yacht as well as providing essential information about the running and status of the vessel and it's massive engines.

Powered by two MTU 20V4000 M93L 2x4300KW (2x5766hp) engines with a Vericor TF50 4177KW (5600hp) booster engine the SC166 is capable of cruising speeds of 30 knots with a top speed of 40 knots.
