Kate Goes With Sarah Burton For Alexander McQueen With Tiara & Earrings By Cartier.

The dress was by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. She donned the Cartier “halo” tiara, which was made in 1936 and given to the Queen as an 18th birthday present. And she's got the wave down cold.

Her earrings were custom-made to match her tiara and were a present from her parents. Kate's wedding ring, which seemed to have given William a bit of difficulty in the slipping on, is a band of Welsh gold by Wartski.

The Cartier "halo" tiara:

No doubt, Kate Middleton, now being referred to as "Catherine," looked every bit like Royalty as she walked down the aisle.

Eastern Eggs. Artist (& Robot) Decorated Wooden Eggs Whose Proceeds Aid Japan.

A few weeks ago, I introduced you to the Egg-Bot, a robotic kit that, with the addition of a fine point Sharpie or similarly sized pen, will decorate Easter eggs (or anything round, cylindrical and small) with art, design, words or logos for you.

Now, that very concept is being put to good and beneficial use by TBWA London who has created Eastern Eggs, an online site/ store selling wooden eggs decorated with the Egg-bot by various artists, with a portion of the proceeds going to Red Cross - Japan Tsunami Appeal.

Eastern Eggs features your choice of 14 different eggs, each illustrated by one of the following artists: Danke Schoen, Damien Weighill, Paul Pateman, Jan Kallwejt, Kristyna Litten, Matt Lyon, Nick Purser, Shin Tanaka, Tony Riff, Yehrin Tong or Ewen Stenhouse.

The suggested donation price is £10 for the eggs, £8 of which will go to the British Red Cross to aid Japan.

Eye-Catching Design for Kirk Originals London Flagship Optical Store.

Optical retailer Kirk Originals has just opened their new London flagship store. Located on Conduit street and designed by Campaign Design, the store design has both great curb appeal with it's eye-catching window display and is inviting and witty on the interior.

Reflecting on the brand’s heritage and principles, the designers created an installation of lenticular printed eye sculptural heads, each carrying a unique frame, ‘winking’ playfully at customers and passers-by. Meanwhile, the monochromatic blue-grey palette on the background makes the display pop.

The centrally located store stocks all Kirk's ranges, but also selected lines by independent eyewear brands exclusive to Kirk Originals in the UK.
